Yeah, me. Nublet
And the "beta" is exactly the same as the Xbox360 multiplayer demo. Why EA decided to stick the label "beta" on it, I'm not sure. I've only played it briefly, because then Mass Effect 2 came out. I've also played it on 360, and I'm not entirely sure which is my favourite version, or if I'm gonna get either... I am, therefore sarcasm.

Damn right I am.
Problem is, with the single map included, the fighting is very narrow, almost linear - it's not the traditional conquest mode, but a mode called rush. Defenders defend two points, then lose them, then fall back to another two points, and then to a further two points for the last stand. Doesn't give the best feel for what a Battlfield game could be like. Also, the map size reduction down from 64 to 32 is a backwards step - its obvious what platform the focus of this game is. There also seem other restrictions based on the console nature. I have no idea why, but the Bradley is only able to fire three shots from its cannon, then has to wait a few seconds before it can shoot more, which is odd. You also cannot go prone, which seems like another console-derived inhibition.
On the upside, destructible environments, and the sound of war is amazing. It also has that key imperceptible requirement an fps needs: the weapons feel right, they feel weighty, and as such, it's good to shoot them. So far, I have to say, despite that I hate FPS in general on consoles, because I can't shoot for damn with a joypad, I have preffered playing it on my xbox, I cant put my finger on it, but I've had more fun with it there.
It has potential, but I'm not entirely convinced, and I don't think they've released the best map they could on the demo - not like when BF1942 came out and they released the two best maps - El Alemein and Wake Island as demos. I am, therefore sarcasm.

Well, based on the trailer on their website, it looks like the graphics have caught up with the times and they are on par if not slightly better than MW2.
But like you Flame, I am starting to see that with these games, they are destroying the PC versions because the games are being designed for consoles. Therefore things you would expect to see from a FPS game are slowly disapearing because it would be to hard or wouldnt work right on the console version.
I think I will just stick with MW2 for now for my FPS needs. If I get bored before PS2 comes out then I might think about getting this to fill the gap... [ image disabled ] [ image disabled ]
