Welcome to Mad Cappers Gaming!
Welcome to the home of the Mad Cappers. We are a multi-gaming community which has been playing together for over 6 years now. Our members have been playing games a long time, some of us have around 25 years of gaming experience.
We play lots of different games, mainly online games but some single player. At the moment we are playing games like Everquest 2, Aion and Modern Warfare 2 on the PC, but also have a fair few members on Xbox Live playing various games.
We don't currently have any game servers, but have run Counter Strike Source and Call of Duty 4 servers. We generally rent servers as and when we need them depending on the amount of members playing certain games.
Membership to Mad Cappers Gaming is generally by invite, but get to know us on the forums or in-game and you may just get invited.
Please feel free to browse our website and forums, but you will need to register to post and use our downloads section. If you require an Admin please post on the forums or use our Contact Page. Enjoy your visit and come back soon!

.:: Ubisoft: Officially mad. The beginning of "DRMageddon" ::.
As one esteemed games journalist put it, PC gamers are getting tired of spending £30 on a game and then "getting kicked in the face" with draconican DRM. Ubisoft have solved this via the joys of stupidity.
Hearing the general rage and outcry over the Starforce copy protection system, Ubisoft have removed it from their upcoming PC releases. It has been replaced with a system that requires you to be permanently online in order to play. Furthermore, all your saves will be stored remotely, and the game requires constant authentication. If, therefore, you have a tempremental internet connection (because that is just so rare these days), you can kiss your plans to have a nice romantic evening in with the latest Splinter Cell goodbye.
On top of this, there are the disturbing and invasive privacy infringements at stake here: there are plenty of people who do not want to let the publisher know their private gaming habits. People who do not wish to report in to a company they’ve no affiliation with, nor accountability to, whenever they play a game they’ve legally bought. People who don’t want their save data stored remotely. This new system renders all customers beholden to Ubisoft in perpetuity whenever they buy their games.
To understand more of this insane folly, I suggest reading of articles written by more astute individuals, available here and here. [Submitted by Flameberge]

Reporting on its April-June fiscal quarter in August, Activision said that revenues for the period surpassed $1 billion. The figure was bolstered in no small part by the unstoppable juggernaut that is Infinity Ward's acclaimed Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, which the publisher said has sold 14 million units worldwide since its release.

Fair enough. It's a game I would give a go if everyone did, but otherwise I'm content to let it pass me by. As I have said a lot, I am just really looking forward to APB
